Tetra House

Designed around a secluded courtyard with a pool and Japanese maple garden, this residence turns inward to create privacy while framing carefully composed views throughout the home. Inspired by Mexican Modernism and the layered compositions of El Lissitzky, intersecting concrete volumes minimize the home's presence along the street while defining a sequence of indoor and outdoor spaces. Poured-in-place concrete honors the client's family construction legacy, while blue interior finishes reinforce the visual connection between the central water courtyard and the surrounding sky.
