East Village is a mixed-use development in Austin’s East 11ᵗʰ Street district, pairing retail and office space with 31 residential units, 20 percent affordable. Its sculptural solar screen shades double as façades and balcony guardrails and, additionally, help to earn a 3-Star Green Building rating. A 65-foot steel truss lifts two levels of residences above glass storefronts.
